A gifted Australian songwriter, vocal coach, worship leader and choral director will be imparting her singing and songwriting skills over the weekend.
Roma Waterman is scheduled to teach on the uniqueness of each person’s voice and the worship leader’s contribution to the Kingdom of God.
She will also speak on leading worship in such a way that it will effectively minister to the congregants.
This will be followed by two practical workshops.
The first, on songwriting, will examine the top ten CCLI songs, what they are and why they work, in an attempt to understand how to write better songs.
Another workshop will help worship leaders prepare their voice for singing with Waterman’s 15 warm up scales, and keep their voice healthy. The artiste will also teach on breathing techniques.
The Roma Waterman workshops, organised by Integrity Media Asia, will take place on Saturday from morning till afternoon at the TCA College along Paya Lebar Road.
Waterman has won several prestigious international songwriting awards for many of her songs.
Her single, lifting me up (2003), was the most played song on community radio in Australia.
But she is most well known for her hit song More than Ice-cream, which catapulted her into the Christian music industry.
She founded and directs the Melbourne Gospel Choir, which performs regularly on television shows and recordings.
