Local churches and groups have released their first joint album.

Bless This Nation is a compilation of songs from eight locally produced albums. They are composed and sung by Christians representing five churches and two groups in Singapore.

The album is a testimony of the fact that Singapore churches are capable of putting together a quality worship product.

Furthermore, the contributing churches and groups have been successful at contextualising their worship. This can be seen from the diversity of the 13 pieces, Integrity Media Asia Director/General Manager Andy Skarda said to The Christian Post.

Skarda also hopes the pioneer compilation will encourage congregations here to record their songs. He anticipates the time that half of the eight to ten new songs that church worship leaders adopt each year would be locally produced.

Currently, most of the new songs are those produced elsewhere, he said.

Contributing churches include City Harvest Church, New Creation Church, Community of Praise Baptist Church, Every Nation Church, Grace Methodist Church. Two groups, The Generations Band and Mercy Pew, contributed to the album.

The album was released last month.
