Ministry Leader Helps Christians Recover Spiritual Roots

Sunday, Jun. 14, 2009 Posted: 1:10:48PM HKT

It's usually, "Bless Israel". With Messianic Jew Samuel Smadja, though, it is for believers to receive the blessing of Israel.

Smadja, the owner and founder of Sar-El, one of the largest tour companies in Christian tourism in Israel, will be leading a public talk here on the relationship between Israel and the believer in July at the Prince George’s Park Residences at the National University of Singapore.

While churches and groups have traditionally focused on bringing the blessing of the Gospel to the Jews in their land, the Israeli-born believer will be having Christians share in the blessings that belong to the Israelites and the land of Israel.

A brochure of Smadja’s talk shows that the Jewish believer will be attempting to help others build a spiritual bridge with Israel, receive a deeper understanding and hunger for the Word of God through developing an appreciation and love for the Jewish nation and become a witness and blessing to the nation.

Smadja’s publicity material notes that Israel is the land where the Bible, faith and history are joined together, where prophecy and the promises of God have been and continue to be fulfilled in the present day, playing a significant role in the spiritual walk of Christians.

Much of the events recorded in the Bible took place in Israel while almost all the biblical authors and the Lord Himself were Jews. Jesus grew up, ministered, died and rose again in that land. Moreover, nearly every major political, economic and social event happening in the Middle East with far-reaching implications for the world has its impetus in Israel, the brochure states.

The Blessing of Israel will be held on Tuesday, July 7 from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Admission is free.
