A revivalist ministry to the Chinese in Europe is scheduled to host returnees in Singapore over the weekend.
The Chinese Overseas Christian Mission reunion conference aims to strengthen the bond between returnees and inform and challenge them to own the vision and mission of COCM to reach the people in Europe.
For three days, returnees will spend time with one another, meet their former pastors and the new COCM General Director Henry Lu, and tour the island, an online brochure showed.
Organisers expect attendants and special guests from seven countries; namely, the U.K., Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the U.S., Canada, and Australia.
An inter-denominational mission with the vision of re-evangelising Europe, COCM was established by The Rev Stephen Wang in 1950 to bring the Gospel to the Chinese people scattered across Europe through pioneering evangelism, church planting, training and literature work.
The ministry seeks to bring Christ to every Chinese person and disciple the Chinese people to reach Europe, according to its website.
COCM works with Chinese churches and fellowships throughout the U.K., where it is based, and Europe by training lay leaders, developing youth ministries, raising intercessors, working with overseas students.
The mission group ministers to a variety of groups including immigrants from Hong Kong and China who have settled in Europe usually as caterers, second generation and local born Chinese, and university students from China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
